We are a well established, award winning modern British company based near Heathrow looking for a hands-on Engineering Design Manager to join our senior management team.
Coming from a strong technical background, you will be managing an engineering team working on the most iconic street furniture, transport infrastructure and metalwork projects in the UK and around the world.
You will have held senior level CAD Design Engineer positions, with extensive architectural metalwork design and detailing experience to manage busy in-house drawing office.
You should ideally have design management experience working on complex architectural metalwork and steelwork projects within the construction, street furniture and airport environments, including canopies, walkways, glazed screens, balustrades, cladding and fabricated signage systems.
In our fast -pace manufacturing environment, you will be expected to oversee the entire design development department of 4-5 design engineers, and additional subcontract design labour as required, overseeing all of the design and drawing office processes from concept through to production of fully detailed CAD Manufacturing and assembly drawings. Commercially focused, you will ensure that urgent and time critical manufacturing and on-site construction deadlines can be met. You will have exceptional knowledge of sheet metalwork, fabrication and architectural metalwork techniques, materials and finishes as well as a good understanding of typical site fixing, installation and erection requirements.
In this senior management role, your CAD design and engineering experience will be balanced with robust project and people management skills.
The company operates an AutoCad Inventor and Mechanical Desktop platform. Experience in this would be advantageous, but not essential.
